-Chloe beth

These seven frames above were a result of a random craving I had to take pictures so I decided to target my ten year old sister Chloe Beth.I really aimed to capture the innocence of youth through using only the slightest bit of face make up and dressing her in just simply a white sheet, this way I was making myself souly rely on my raw technical photography skills which I felt would work to my advantage due to the fact that in the past I have had props, heavy make up and flamboyant clothing to fall back on.

-The Cycle Of Fashion, exam final piece

As my As level drew to a close,we were given a final topic to cover titled 'Rhythms and Cycles',which was later labelled as our exam segment.Throughout the prep work for this topic I knew I wanted to explore a more drastic and adventurous concept to show the examiner the improvements and progress I have made during this past academic year.So I came up with the concept of exploring the cycle of fashion and put together several outfits which represented each historic fashion decade, the decades I chose to highlight were the 1950s,1960s and 1970s due to their impact on the latest fashion trends.Along with these outfits I also collaborated outfits styled using present fashion trends, which have had been influenced by those previous historic fashion decades.

By using the darkroom manipulation technique of 'sandwich printing' I colaborated two individual shots, one of the modern outfit and one of the retro styled outfit into one frame purposefully making sure that the modern day styled figure was in the foreground or center of the frame convaying the fact that modern day fashion is incredibly dominant, but by having the retro styled outfitted figure still in the frame helps create a 'ghost' like image and represents the retro influence on modern day fashion.

- The Decaying Youth

This black and white frame was shot using my 35mm Pentax K1000 and the location used was that of the Denbies Wine Estate located in the town of Dorking.I then chose this frame as one of my final six products of my coursework topic titled 'Urban Decay' due to the harsh vertical lines created via the grape vines which gives the photograph a ridgid like feel, and also the powerful statement of the idea of a decaying youth which is simply being displayed by using only one model in such a secluded location.

- Puberty vs Girl

Again taken within my 35mm Pentax K1000,this idea was conjured up during which I was participating within my second As level project titled 'Time'.By incorporating such props like a heavy metal chain into a frame such as this helps to convey the mental battle a child deals with during puberty ,although on the other hand the body language consisting of the arms hiding the face displayed by the model within the shot, could convey the physical battle the body faces during the progress of puberty.
